One Great Shopping Tip to All Avid Electronics for camcorders especially for x'mas gifts: Plan on getting it from Walmart during its Annual Thanksgiving Black Friday.  You won't go wrong.  I dare say you can't find another place selling couple of in demand electronics at dirt cheap price.  Savings of between 50% to 80% always.  Always look at their store catalog online which is available even a day or two before coming in with the newspapers.  Exactly the same catalog with the same offers that you can actually flip through page by page and print it out. 
 
Hey, I even have couple of friends who have been their tradition to stand outside of Walmart since 8p.m Thanksgiving night to wait for door to open up 5a.m. for total of 12 years every year without fail.  This is how they get their electronics including computers for their family members and themselves every year or two.
 
So if you can hold off your electronics purchases you have in mind for 2010 till then, you will be a happy camper.  PLAN AHEAD AND IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO HAVE THAT IN MIND TODAY!
 
Can only speak for this item that I queued up for.  If Walmart has it this year, you want to get it (that particular item) you see on the catalog because it won't show up the next year.  Every year their individual electronics big tickets changes:  TVs, Cameras, Hard Drives, Video Games Consoles, etc.
 
What I got last year I definitely did not see it this year.  So next year I am on lookout for something else.
